Yang expands and flows upwards and outwards.
Yin contracts and flows downwards and inwards. Diseases can
occur when there is an imbalance of yin and yang in the body,
and the methods of treatment should aim at reconciling the two
and restoring them to a relative balance. In nourishing yin
or yang follow the course of the meridian. In depressing yin
or yang go against the course of the meridian. In treating internal
organs, treat female with right side first and then left. For
male, treat left side first then right side. The right side
may be treated for disorder of the left side and vice versa.
The lower portion of the body maybe treated for disorders of
the upper portion and vice versa. |
