Press-massage
Press-massage is done on acupressure points
or key points. It is done with the thumb or fingers. The pressure
applied depends on the size of the patient. Press the points
with rotating movements. Sometimes vibration using strength
from the wrist is necessary. Points can be pressed for 10-30
seconds each or as long as 3-5 minutes each depending on the
complaint or seriousness of the sickness. |

Palm
rubbing
The palm is placed flat on the body and one
palm is used. The stress should be even and steady, the motion
slow, and the movement can be upwards, downwards, clockwise
or anti-clockwise. This method is used for larger area like
abdomen, thigh, chest, back and lower leg. |

Kneading
Kneading is done with the
finger or palm. The finger or palm should not leave the skin,
but let the subcutaneous tissue move in accordance with the
movements of the thumb or palm. The strength applied reaches
the subcutaneous tissue. It is effective for easing irritation
caused by strong stimulation and diminishing pain. |

Finger
kneading
Press the point with the finger, usually the thumb is used,
and rotate the finger ensuring that the subcutaneous tissue
is affected. Finger kneading is done on sensitive narrow surface
or pressure points. The strength applied is from light to hard.

Palm
kneading
Press skin with the palm and rotate palm clockwise or anti-clockwise
and ensure that the subcutaneous tissue is affected. The strength
applied should be from light to hard. This method is usually
applied on the larger area of he body, e.g. on the thigh, abdomen
and back. |
